Since the launch of Campaign 4, recently appointed game master Brennan Mulligan has kept fans guessing with deep backstory, a diverse cast of heroes, and a exciting storyline featuring divine entities, fiends, and malevolent powers increasing in influence within the urban setting.
Note: Revealing details for the third episode of the new season lie ahead.
The Warrior Group Introduced
The third episode ended with a major cliffhanger and introduced the initial group of adventurers who will branch out from the primary party to begin their own adventure, apart from the other two tables.
The Soldiers table includes Teor (brought to life by Travis Willingham), Thimble (Laura Bailey), the strong-willed figure (the cast member), the cleric (the player), and the mysterious adventurer (Robbie).
Dividing the Cast
Given an extensive roster, it was obvious from the beginning that keeping everyone at the same party would be unfeasible.
Hence, the initial installments of Campaign 4 serve as an Prelude, intertwining the individual narratives before splitting into three separate parties: Fighters, Strategists, and Explorers.
What Defines the Warrior Group
Per the Dungeon Master, the Soldiers table is for adventurers who enjoy a typically action-packed combat and conflict-driven story mode where diplomatic options are rare.
Upon first impression, characters like the hesitant healer the cleric might look out of place, but the events of the third episode demonstrate why these particular heroes are perfectly fit for the warrior group.
Why They Must Go
First, the party understands precisely where to go next after a violent first encounter with the antagonists.
Casimir of Thjazi Fang—whose death initiated the narrative’s action—used the enemy for his personal gain, entering Thjazi’s hideout, striking Thimble, and swiping all the powerful objects to dispose of.
Casimir then cleared his liabilities and ran away to a fortified location in Gormalay, Timmony, above Dol-Makjar, with Cyd Pridesire hot on his heels.
Character Drivers
Additionally, each member has a specific drive to leave the city Dol-Makjar:
- Thimble, as the close ally and trusted friend, wants revenge.
- Kattigan has experience in Timmony and warns that it is a nasty environment.
- Tyranny and The healer, having defied his house’s orders to eliminate the target and instead saved him, have no other options.
- However, their reputation as key figures in the powerful family could enable the team enter locations they normally couldn’t.
- Furthermore, Teor swore a eternal obligation to Wicander for his rescue and will now go with him wherever.
Wanted and Hunted
In addition, all of them are wanted by the powers that govern Dol-Makjar for a range of causes, making staying in the city no longer safe:
- The rogue and The hero are known criminals.
- The strong figure and The cleric betrayed the influential house and the horde of evil beings they are aligned with.
- The fighter is marked for death by the clan.
This means them few options but to journey toward the northern region in search of the antagonist.
Future Episodes
From the recent installment’s follow-up content, we learn that the warrior group won’t be around the following episode, leaving the remaining eight players to assemble the Explorers and Schemers groups.
