I'll overwhelm 'credible fighter' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer will face the American YouTuber in an eight-bout contest which will be shown live on the streaming platform.

British boxer Joshua said he will "overwhelm entirely" the American and "break" his opponent as the combatants came face-to-face to build hype for next month's boxing match.

Former two-time unified title holder Anthony Joshua meets social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, on paper, a massive mismatch - at Miami's arena on December 19th.

Boxer's Mentality

"I'm going to break his face and damage his physique. I aim to demonstrate my superiority," the British boxer, 35 years old, declared.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's how fighters think.

"I intend to seriously aim to cause him pain. That's what I want to do."

Respectful Exchange

Despite such comments, a composed Joshua and social media star Paul - typically known for his theatrics - were respectful and kept it respectful with each other.

Paul instead criticized former Joshua opponent the Cameroonian fighter and labeled him "ridiculous" after Ngannou turned down a bout proposal.

Taking Aim at Fury

Anthony Joshua, in the meantime, targeted UK opponent Fury - and refused a £1m bet 'Tyson Fury' claims he will make on a Paul win.

"Jake Paul is better than Tyson Fury - he showed up," Joshua stated.

"I respect him for that."

Serious Fighter

Despite stating he plans to punish Paul, Joshua refused to talk badly about his rival's pugilistic talent.

"Jake Paul is a serious fighter," he said.

Paul's History

Paul - who initially became famous on the Disney Channel - has mostly boxed mixed martial artists or faded names since turning professional.

He was defeated by Briton Tommy Fury in 2023.

Commercial Success

Still, the relative newcomer continues to be one of the sport's greatest financial successes, regularly earning substantial paydays.

Forecast and Confidence

The 28-year-old forecast a KO victory in the fourth or fifth round and stated he would derail the long-awaited match between Joshua and Fury, which is allegedly under discussion for 2026.

"The next fight will be me versus Tyson Fury next year," Paul declared.

Size Disparity

As Joshua and Paul engaged in the traditional face-off, with their size difference clearly visible, it highlighted just how surprising this complete situation is - and how amazing it is that the fight is truly proceeding.
